Traders plea for cut to red tape - Precinct groups underfunded

CITY traders’ groups are calling for greater appreciation, less red tape and more money after a six-month investigation found they were undervalued and underfunded.

LEIGH STREET TO BE TRANSFORMED INTO THE ULTIMATE ALFRESCO DINING ROOM!

Leigh Street’s bustling restaurant scene is set to become the ultimate alfresco dining room when the street closes to traffic every Friday, starting on 9 December 2011.

PREMIUM BUS STOPS TO GET LATE-NIGHT PATRONS HOME SAFELY

Bus stops featuring extra lighting and security have been upgraded in Adelaide’s CBD to assist
patrons in getting home safely after a late night out in the city.

Transport Services Minister Chloë Fox today announced that four “Premium City Central Stops”
have been designated in the Hindley Street precinct, providing dedicated stops for outbound After
Midnight bus services.

WEST (West End Safety Trial)

From 25 November 2011 until the end of May 2012, State Government and Adelaide City Council will trial some initiatives in the city’s north-west (map here).  These initiatives are expected to improve the amenity and safety of the West End precinct, so:
