This BINSA event is part of celebrations to recognise the UN International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) which is being celebrated through events around the country and the world. The day is a way of highlighting the achievements, skills and abilities of people with disabilities as well as encouraging the community to improve community attitudes and break down the barriers faced by people with a disability.
This year our co-hosts will include Muscular Dystrophy SA and a number of other local support groups as well as information stall about the Energy Partners Program; mobility and vehicle aids.
IDPwD aims to promote an understanding of people with disability and encourage support for their dignity, rights and well-being. The day also seeks to increase awareness of the benefits of the integration of people with disability in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
Our event will feature a sausage sizzle, kindly arranged by Adelaide Lions Club, and a lamb spit, kindly arranged by Tony Polyak; and, mobile coffee stand from Lime2Cafe: yum yum.
