What can the Adelaide West End Association do for you?
ADVOCACY Issues with Adelaide City Council or state government in respect of services; i.e. streetscape, lighting, parking, crime and safety, etc. are addressed via the AWEA to the appropriate local or state office. Regular public forums at ACC are also a way to get your issue heard. We can assist you with your presentation. The West End Reference Group was generated by the Adelaide City Council and the AWEA to keep the strategic plan of the West End continuing to progress and develop while also listening to concerns of business and residents. AWEA also consults with a regular basis with the SA Police to encourage a safe and comfortable place to live, work and play.
MARKETING Utilising the skills base available in the West End, an innovative marketing approach aims to develop a higher profile for the excitement and energy that characterises the West End. With assistance from the Adelaide City Council, corporate sponsors and members, the AWEA is working to attract major events to the precinct, and to promote participation with the events and services already available in the West End. The Art West project, which extends an invitation to all to visit businesses and arts organisations in the West End, is one example of this approach.
MEMBER SERVICES Database we can contact other members in the precinct about your business. Social and business interaction via regular Networking drinks. Communicate regularly with traders on activities via electronic email and mail. A regular newsletter keeps members informed of all that is happening in the West End. YOUTH Tertiary institutions bring thousands of students into the West End every week. Businesses are developing to cater for this growing market, with AWEA recognising youth as a major growth area for the sector. Marketing and tourism students have been assisting the AWEA in areas of publicity and promotion for Art West. The West End is the major entertainment quarter of the city, catering for all tastes from jazz, cabaret, orchestral and contemporary with the greatest concentration of venues in Adelaide.
